Dirofen tablets for deworming cats and dogs of small and medium breeds
DOSES AND ADMINISTRATION
Dirofen tablets are administered to animals individually, during the morning feeding with a small amount of food or treats. There is no need for prior fasting or the use of laxatives.
For preventive deworming, it is done once every quarter, as well as before each vaccination.
For therapeutic purposes, as well as for preventive measures in group (crowded) animal husbandry (kennels, shelters, vivariums), treatment is carried out as follows: for nematode infestations – twice with a 14-day interval; for cestode infestations and associative nematode-cestode invasions – twice with a 14-day interval, once a day for 3 consecutive days, in the following doses:
• Dirofen tablets for cats and dogs of small and medium breeds – 1 tablet per 5 kg of animal weight.
In case of overdosing, the animal may experience a depressed state, refusal to eat, excessive salivation, and gastrointestinal upset. In such cases, general measures aimed at removing the drug from the body are taken.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Contraindications to use include individual intolerance to the components of the drug (including in the medical history).
Dirofen tablets should not be used in animals that are exhausted, suffering from infectious diseases, or recovering, as well as in pregnant females in the first half of pregnancy, puppies, or kittens younger than 3 weeks old.
Pregnant females should be given the drug with caution, under the supervision of a veterinarian, 3 weeks before the expected delivery date, and nursing females should be given the drug 2-3 weeks after delivery.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Dirofen tablets should not be used simultaneously with piperazine and with agents that inhibit cholinesterase.
The drug is not intended for use in productive animals.
